Meissner, Bertha W. (1896 - 1990)
Bertha Meissner, 94, Chili, died Saturday,
Aug. 25, 1990, at Neillsville Memorial Nursing Home, Neillsville.
Funeral services were held Wednesday Aug. 29, 1990, at 11 a.m. at
United Methodist Church, Chili. Rev. Calvin W. Carey officiated and
burial was in the Yolo Cemetery in the town of Fremont. Grandsons
served as pallbearers.
Bertha W. Grobe was born Aug. 1, 1896, in Chili, to Herman and
Erstina (nee Frank) Grobe. She received her education in the town
of Fremont School. She married Edwin A. Meissner April 15, 1915, at
St. John's Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death Oct. 27, 1946.
They farmed in the town of Fremont all their lives. She was a
resident of Neillsville Memorial Home for the past six years.
Survivors include four sons, Harland Meissner, Chili, Norman
Meissner, Chili Chester Meissner, Cassville and Douglas Meissner,
Dallas, Texas one daughter, Mrs. Ron (Betty) Gluch, Loyal 30
grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers,
two half-brothers, three sisters, and one great-grandchild.
Rinka Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
